This post is just another quick update on my writing journey. It’s been so exciting!
Firstly, I wrote last week about securing a telephone interview with an online company – VoucherCodes.
The interview went great and I’m still shocked to say that I got the gig! I’ll be starting work for them as a content/copywriter.
I love VoucherCodes and use the site myself all the time, so I’m really happy about this one.
Also, it’s a long-term deal and guaranteed hours each week which is a great basis if I’m going to make writing a full time thing. I’ve been worrying about a lack of stability too, so this helps to ease that pressure.
Even more exciting, they’ve asked me to go to London next week for some media training!
As well as this, the editor of Metro replied to my article pitch and asked me to do a test piece. They liked my work and are going to publish it!
They’re actually in the process of setting me up an author profile on their website too… and I’ve already submitted some more pitches. A – MA – ZING.
I read their posts online all the time and I can’t believe I’m going to be writing for them.
In other news, I made the leap away from “wordpress.com” free hosting this week, which was quite the ordeal as I am not very up to scratch with the technical world. This enabled me to completely re-design my website and after 12 solid hours of frustration and confusion, I’m thrilled with the end result.
I continued to work with some other fantastic writers/bloggers.
I’ve also been networking on social media and working to build my web traffic.
A few days ago, I hit 2000 views and 1000 unique visitors! So it all seems to be going quite well.
I can’t believe that I only took the plunge two weeks ago and all of this has already happened. I’ll continue to keep you posted.
