Hiiiiiiiiiiii… it’s been a while.
I haven’t blogged or really written much in a good few weeks (or even months). There’s a few reasons for this to be honest.
Firstly – life. Life just gets in the way. I’ve been busy having fun and spending time with my loved ones but also dealing with some pretty stressful stuff, which has meant that writing has had to take a back seat.
Secondly – motivation. Writing is a tricky business and I suffered my first big blow when the publication I’d spent months writing for, hired a new editor… My emails were suddenly left unread and that door closed abruptly. Of course, me being me, I took it to heart and felt pretty disheartened. It’s taken me a while to dust it off and get back to it.
Aside from all of this, I’ve been well. My freelance writing is keeping me busy and I’m still managing to make a living from it (somehow). Most importantly, my mental health has been fairly good for quite some time and I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere.
So – why have I decided to blog today?
Just this morning, I received an email from The Mighty asking to publish one of the first blogs I ever wrote – 10 Daily Thoughts Thanks To Anxiety. Of course, I said yes and my post is now live on their site.
This was the little boost that I needed and also a reminder that it’s important to talk and share my stories, even when things are going well for me.
I started my blog in the first place to connect with others who were going through similar experiences. I am now a contributor for The Mighty (feel free to follow me!) and this will give me a new platform to speak and have my voice heard.
I’m also determined to keep up with my blog from now on so it shouldn’t be too long before I’m back again!
